What are things you HAVE to have on a road trip?
I loved the Farmers Market here, it was a lot of fun to go buy local produce and yummy loaves of wheat bread. It's good to know that there are many local farmers markets in Paraguay. I like getting to know the vendors, I like knowing where my food is coming from and I love teaching my girls how to pick out the best tomato, pineapple, or mangos.
Why must everything be fast and convenient? I prefer taking my time with some things and the preparation of food is one of them. Shopping, planning, cleaning and finally cooking the food is something that consumes a lot of my time. But I'm okay with this, more than okay, I love it.
How about you? Is cooking fun or a an annoying chore?
Random Update
* Brian finished his last term paper for his first class. He's working on getting his masters. So smart.
* We leave for Paraguay in one week.
*My sister is going to do some hemming for me tomorrow. What will I do when she leaves for college? I really need to learn how to sew.
* I love this picture that I snapped downtown St. Petersburg. I think those are the colors I will do in the girls room. In fact, I'm sure of it.
Presenting...
Brian has decided that is her nickname. Elena is "Fripits", Abbie is "Abbatukins" and now Lexi is Miss Nooks.
We never know what his nickname will be till he meets them. It takes a few weeks and watches their little personalities develop and then it hits him. The Perfect Nickname.
It's his talent and we love it.
Packing, Target, and Burritos
Packing makes us all get a little nutty. Piles start accumulating around the house, we trip over stuff, I get horrible headaches, the children start scaling walls...it gets bad.
Ugh.
We'll survive though. We've done it before and we'll do it again. And again. And again. And again.
I'm desperately trying to squeeze in all those last minute things I wanted to do while in the US. Basically what that means is that, every single day, I have this strong urge to go back to Target and make sure I didn't miss anything.
I also eat a lot of Chipotle burritos. I will miss you organic fast food.
Ikea love
The children's section of Ikea is so fun. It makes me feel like I'm walking through Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, good thing Ikea is less fattening. (Although their $1.00 hot dogs are amazingly good.)
The colors are so cool, and so are their prices. I finally get what all the hype is about.
Dear Ikea,
Will you come to Paraguay, please?
No?
Fine!
(It was worth a try!)
I didn't buy anything from the children's section, but I did bring home the cute guy holding the cute baby.
Not a bad deal at all.
