My Latest Book

I love to read, and I miss reading. As a mother of two littles I just don't have the time to sit down with a good book. On a good day I get fifteen minutes of reading time, but that's ok, it's just the season I'm in right now. I do make the effort though, because I want to be sharp, I want to learn, and I want to READ.

Right now I'm reading Passionate Housewives Desperate For God and loving every second of it.

I usually read a chapter before my afternoon nap (it helps me turn off my busy brain) and maybe a few pages before sleeping at night. By nightime though, my brain is dead tired and usually all I see are squiggles.

What are you reading? And when do you read?

I just finished rereading The Augsburg Confessions. I started The Confessions of St. Augustine last night. I'm not sure what I'll read next.

The chicken dish looked scrumptious!
I'm reading "Andrew Johnson, A Biography" byt Hans L. Trefousse and "Native American Testimony- A Chronicle of India-White Relations from Prophecy to the Present, 1492-1992" It's been a real eye opener! While the accounts in the book are from journals and real document or oral testimonies of native Americans, the book was edited by Peter Nabokov.

oops! I forgot to include when I read. Not as much now that it's a hot political season and I watch way too much t.v. but I try reading spending an hour on my back patio each day while Shane does schoolwork like, Math problems or writing. Then again at night before bed. Sometimes before a nap, which I rarely take anymore. I really should do a post about the blessing of being able to read again. You know I went through a couple of years where I hurt too badly to hold the book or bend my neck to see the page just right. I even lacked the ability to concentrate on what little bit I did try to read during those times. So to be able to hold a book now or bend my head for awhile is a real blessing to me.
